Rock legend Billy Idol arrives in Tulsa with a “Rebel Yell” May 14

TULSA, Okla. (Feb. 27, 2024) – One of punk rock’s renowned artists of all time, Billy Idol is bringing his iconic smash hits to Hard Rock Live inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on Tuesday, May 14, at 8 p.m.

Tickets start at $79.50 and go on sale March 1.

Born William Michael Albert Broad, Billy Idol has left an indelible mark on the global music landscape with a career spanning multiple decades. Emerging from the vibrant punk scene, Idol co-founded Generation X, challenging social norms with their unique blend of positivity, pop and romance. The band’s evolution culminated into the iconic track “Dancing With Myself,” a groundbreaking fusion of rock and dance club beats.

Transitioning into a solo career in the early ‘80s, Idol embraced the gritty scene of New York City, producing chart-topping hits like “White Wedding,” “Rebel Yell,” “Eyes Without a Face” and the well-known “Mony Mony.” His punk rock background and charismatic presence positioned him as a key figure in the MTV era, propelling him to international stardom.

The ‘90s brought challenges, including a life-threatening motorcycle accident, but Idol’s creative spirit endured. Acting in Oliver Stone’s “The Doors” and releasing noteworthy albums like “Cyberpunk” and “Devil’s Playground,” he showcased a visionary approach to music that foreshadowed the impact of the internet on the industry.
