Fort Gibson: March 24. Elevation is 0.5 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 58°F and murky. (USACE Lake Level) Crappie fair on hair jigs, minnows, spoons, and tube jigs around brush structure, docks, and main lake. Largemouth bass fair on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, flukes, jerk baits, jigs, and spinnerbaits around coves, points, and rocks. Paddlefish fair snagging below the dam and main lake. Comments: Keep fishing deeper water for crappie, the bite is real hit or miss right now. Moon jigs and minnows seem to be working the best. Some sand bass are being caught in the mouth of Flat Rock Creek on the lake. Throw square bill cranks and lipless cranks for them. The black bass bite has been slow; jerk baits, jigs, square bills, and lipless near structure in deeper water has had the best results. (USACE Lake Level) White bass good on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, hair jigs, and in-line spinnerbaits around channels, river channel, and river mouth. Largemouth and spotted bass good on crankbaits, plastic baits, and spinnerbaits around brush structure, points, and shorelines. Crappie good on minnows and tube jigs around brush structure, docks, and main lake. Comments: White bass are being caught in the creek and river channels. Anglers are having success catching them around Caney Creek up to Carter’s Landing area. Striper are biting on live shad very well right now. Around ledges and humps. Catfish are biting near river channels on live shad and cut bait.
