Cherokee Nation calendar of events for January
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Cherokee Nation hosts several events in January, including a special election for the Tribal Council District 7 seat and a veterans bingo event at the Cherokee Nation Veterans Center. See all Cherokee Nation calendar items below.
Jan. 1 Cherokee Nation’s W.W. Keeler Complex, satellite offices and health centers will be closed in observance of New Year’s Day. Cherokee Nation W.W. Hastings Hospital urgent care and emergency department as well as other Cherokee Nation emergency services will remain open.

.Jan. 2-4 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – The Cherokee Nation Election Commission, located at 17763 S. Muskogee in Tahlequah, will be open for early walk-in voting for the Tribal Council District 7 special election. District 7 includes western portions of Adair County. For more information, call 918-458-5899.
Jan. 3 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – The Will Rogers Health Center partners with the Oklahoma Blood Institute to host a blood drive at the health facility in Nowata.
Jan. 5 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – The Cherokee Nation special election for the Tribal Council District 7 seat is June 1. Voters must cast their ballots at designated voting precincts as specified and delivered to them in the mail. District 7 includes western portions of Adair County. Jan. 6 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The Cherokee Arts Center in Tahlequah hosts jewelry classes every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday during the month of January. Jan. 14-24 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Cherokee Nation Health Services host a specialty clinic health screenings at the Cherokee Nation Food Distribution facility in Tahlequah. Health staff will be on site Monday-Thursday from Jan. 14-24. Participants will receive a gift card if they have labs drawn. For more information, call 918-781-6418.
Jan. 15 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Cherokee Nation Community & Cultural Outreach hosts an open house at the department’s new office, located at 13500 Hwy 51 West in Tahlequah.
