TPD Press Release: Shots fired a Garden Courtyard at 4300 S. Garnett Road.

On September 11, 2018 at 2:22pm,  Tulsa Police Department responded to Garden Courtyard for a call regarding the molestation of an 8 year old child. 

During the investigation, the relatives called the suspect.  They reported to the suspect that he was listed in the molestation investigation.  The suspects came to the Garden Courtyard to verify the police being called the location.  A relative stated the suspects were seen in the apartment complex while TPD were inside the apartment.  The suspects left the Garden Courtyard prior to the arrival of Tulsa Police Department.  The suspects were upset about being listed as suspects in the molestation.

AT 4:33pm,  Tulsa Police Department received a second call to the Garden Courtyard.  The victim was inside her apartment when she recognized a black male,  known as her grandson using threatening language and physical abuse outside the locked entry door.  The adult suspect and juvenile suspect were seen kicking the entry door to the apartment.  The suspects made entry to the apartment.  The victim was able to get her and 4 small grandchildren into a bathroom and locked the door.  The suspects left the apartment when they heard their grandmother talking with the Tulsa Police Department dispatcher.  Tulsa Police Department went to search for the suspect(s) at a known address.  The suspects were not located at their residence provided by relatives.

At 7:21pm, Tulsa Police Department received a third call to the residence for shots fired at the grandmother.  The grandmother stated the suspects returned to the grandmother’s apartment making verbal and physical harm.  The grandmother stated she witnessed her juvenile grandson point a handgun while in the main courtyard with kids all around her.  The juvenile suspect fired 3 shots in her direction.  She stated she fell to the ground to protect the children.  The adult grandson was driving a red Ford Mustang away from the shooting scene. 

The suspects were later arrested at a different location.  Subsequent to a search warrant, a pistol was recovered inside the residence.   The adult suspect was charged with 1st Burglary.  The adult’s name is Edward Scott – 23 years of age.  The juvenile suspect is charged with Shooting with Intent to Kill and 1st Burglary.
