Cherokee Nation Calendar of Events for June
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Cherokee Nation celebrates several events in June, including Cherokee Days at the Museum
of the American Indian at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., and the annual Tri-Council meeting between the three federally recognized Cherokee tribes, which will be hosted in Tahlequah. See a full list of events below.
June 1
The Summer Food Service Program at Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah will operate weekdays through July 8. Breakfast is provided from 7 to 8 a.m. with lunch provided from 11 a.m. to noon. For more information, contact Deena Johnson at 918-453-5191.

June 3-4
Cherokee Nation Community & Cultural Outreach hosts the 12th Annual Conference of Community Leaders at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. June 10-11
8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. – The Cherokee Heritage Center will host the 15th Annual Cherokee Ancestry Conference in the Osiyo Room behind the Restaurant of the Cherokees in Tahlequah. A discount is given to those who register before June 3. Pre-registration is $60 for Cherokee National Historical Society members and $75 for nonmembers. The deadline is June 3. June 10-12
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Cherokee Nation will join the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in hosting the annual Cherokee Days at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
June 13

1 to 2:30 p.m. – The Cherokee Nation Male Seminary Recreation Center in Tahlequah will host a camp to help up to 25 athletes with stability, conditioning and power. The camp is for those ages 15 years and older and lasts seven weeks on Monday, Wednesday and Friday through July 29. Cost to attend is $20. The three federally recognized Cherokee tribes will gather in Tahlequah for the annual Tri-Council meeting, with Cherokee Nation hosting this year. The three-day event will culminate with the Tri-Council meeting at Northeastern State University at 10 a.m., June 17.
